The competition acquis has two main aspects: anti-trust rules and rules on state aid. Anti-trust rules relate to mergers and to agreements between undertakings and they further aim at avoiding the abuse of dominance by undertakings which have a dominant position in the market. As for the rules governing state aid , they impose strict control on aid granted to undertakings by the state or through state resources. “An Overview of EU Requirements in State Aids Policy” Full text in Bulgarian Agriculture The Common Agricultural Policy has common rules, measures and mechanisms for the support, restructuring and development of the agricultural sector. Production, supply and marketing of most crop and livestock products is based on EU common rules that establish the Common Organisation of the Market. The objectives of structural and rural development policies envisaged by the Common Agricultural Policy aim at rationalised and balanced development of the rural regions. These objectives are attained through the implementation of development plans at the national and/or regional, sometimes community level. Implementation agencies as well as procedures are established under common EU rules and regulations. The acquis provides for control systems in the internal market in the fields of veterinary, phytosanitary, feeding stuffs and movement and marketing of seeds, plants and live animals.
