Responsibilities: conceptualized and managed the economic work at the World Bank Resident Mission in Bulgaria, authored and co-authored major policy papers and reports on macro-vulnerability, economic and financial sector developments; participated in the policy dialogue with the Bulgarian Government.
1996-1997 Chief Economist, Member of the Management Board, Bulgarian National Bank, Sofia, Bulgaria. Responsibilities: participated in the Bulgarian Central Bank decision making, management and restructuring, drafted Monetary Policy strategy and took part in its implementation, participated in negotiations between the IMF and three Bulgarian Cabinets at a crucial moment for the Bulgarian economy and Central Bank restructuring, participated in the currency board introduction, initiated and set up the Research Department of the Bulgarian National Bank.

Responsibilities: participated in founding the Bulgarian Securities and Stock Exchange Commission, which is the first ever in Bulgarian history; regulated securities markets, approved prospectuses, licensed privatization funds and investment companies, drafted Regulations on privatization fund prospectuses and licensing, public offering of securities, etc.
