Vessela Stancheva
President of the Board of Trustees Ms. Vessela Stancheva, a Bulgarian national, is Doctor of Law (1993, University of Sofia). Since 1998 she is a partner at the law firm of Djingov, Gouginski, Kyutchukov & Velichkov. She has extensive experience in advising on securities, EU law, banking law, privatization, foreign direct and portfolio investments, secured transactions, private international law, corporate law. Ms. Stancheva has represented many leading financial institutions in banking transactions in Bulgaria, including KBC, Societe Generale. Since 1997 Ms. Stancheva has been lecturing in the Master Program on European Integration at the New Bulgarian University and the Center for European Studies, as well as on securities law at the University of National and World Economy. Ms. Stancheva was Chief Expert in the Council on Legislation at the Ministry of Justice (1993-1996), a member and Deputy Chairperson of the Securities and Stock Exchanges Commission (1996-1998). She is a drafter of the Law on Securities and of numerous regulations. Ms. Stancheva has studied the legal system of the European Union in the Law Dominant at the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium. She is a regular contributor to law journals and a speaker at conferences.
